Fugitive Victimizes Gay Men
Being circulated to gay publications across the United States is a photograph and wanted notice for William Howard Wilson suspected in the brutal slaying of a gay man in Florida last December 29th.
Wilson is regarded as being armed and extremely dangerous.
The murder victim, Charles Wayne Dean of Boca Raton, Florida, was stabbed 74 times with a kitchen knife and beaten about the head with a blunt instrument. According to the Boca Raton police, the victim was found in the master bedroom of his apartment, there was no sign of a struggle, and he appeared to have been murdered in his sleep.
Wilson is a fugitive from Los Angeles County, California, having jumped bail while pending trial for several felony charges involving two sailors from the Naval Training Center in San Diego. The Los Angeles charges include two counts of kidnapping, one count of burglary, two counts of armed robbery, and one count of grand theft auto.
Wilson is also wanted for desertion from the United States marine Corps.
According to a letter sent to gay publications from Dean Smith of Cerritos, California, one of Wilson's robbery victims, Wilson has "left a long and sometimes bloody trail of male gay victims across
the country."
Smith says that Wilson stole from his home items worth several thousand dollars and also stole his 77 year old crippled mother's car. In the burglary of Smith's home, Wilson also stole two hand guns.
Wilson, who usually goes by the name of Willie or Bill, is known to have stolen the identification and credit cards of a Florida man named Dan Mott and to have used Mott's name as an alias.
Wilson is thought to be in the Midwest fleeing widespread publicity about his actions in various publications in Florida and New England. He has been sighted in Baltimore and St. Louis.
Wilson is 21 years old, five feet eleven inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has light brown hair. His eyebrows are continuous, one solid line above both eyes without a break.

We are expecting groups of marchers from Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Toledo, Cincinnati, Dayton, Athens, Detroit, Louisville, Chicago, Milwaukee, Bloomington, and Pittsburgh, as well as a dozen other cities and towns in the Midwest. For a really effective turnout, however, we need a huge response from Central Ohio, and we urge all those who possibly can to attend and bring three friends or family members with them.
If you can't march openly, then participate as a supportive bystander along the route, or join the paper bag contingent. If that is not possible, then we hope that you will see your way to donate money to help with the expenses Stonewall Union and other groups have incurred to organize this event. Anonymous donations are also welcomed.
Participants are invited to place their convertibles, antique and sports cars in the parade, and to bring American flags, posters, signs and banners.
At the conclusion of the parade, we will have speakers and entertainment and a massive rally on the Statehouse grounds. The entertainment will be provided by Labyris of Detroit and the Lambda Men's Chorus. Among the speakers will be Professors
Whaley, Senator Michael Swarzwalder, Rev. Rob Shivers, Rev. Jerry Motto, and Vic Ramsetter.
This is the biggest project yet undertaken by Stonewall Union, and we hope it will be the best time the lesbians and gays of Columbus, Ohio, and the Midwest have ever had.
